Choose earrings alongside the actual height and texture of the blouse collar, leaving room for movement near the jaw and shoulders.

A high-neck blouse puts fabric close to the face, so earrings become part of a smaller area that may already contain buttons, embroidery or a collar edge. Start by deciding what you want to emphasise. A plain high neck gives larger earrings room to stand out; a heavily detailed neckline may call for a quieter shape if you want the blouse to lead.
Put the blouse on before choosing the earrings. A collar that looks low when laid flat may rise at the sides, particularly when you turn your head. Long earrings can touch that edge, and textured fabric can catch a dangling element. Move your head gently and check both sides. The earrings should not need to be held away from the collar every time you look down.
A broad, short earring and a narrow, long drop create different effects even if they contain the same material. With a high-neck blouse, the shorter shape can concentrate detail beside the face. A longer drop creates a vertical line, but it needs space between its lowest point and the collar or shoulder. There is no universal length that works for every neckline.
For a plain cream blouse, try a small coloured stud first, then a more substantial metal earring. Notice how each changes the area around the face without immediately adding a necklace. A necklace is not forbidden, but the high neck and earrings may already provide the amount of detail you want.
Hair affects visibility too. Loose hair may partly cover an earring or move against it, while tied-back hair exposes its full shape. Test the pair with the hairstyle you are likely to wear, including a scarf or outer layer if one will sit near the neck.
Finally, check comfort with the earrings on for a little while. A dramatic pair that feels heavy or pulls at the ear may be better replaced with a lighter option that gives a similar outline. The styling decision is about the relationship between garment and accessory; it does not require tolerating an uncomfortable piece to complete the look.
