A printed kurta can be worn with another print in trousers or a dupatta. Begin with one second printed piece, so you can see its effect clearly. Adding printed trousers, a printed dupatta and a patterned bag at the same time makes it harder to identify which combination you actually enjoy.
Look for a connection rather than an exact match. A small floral kurta and a striped dupatta may share navy or cream. A geometric trouser print may repeat a colour in a larger botanical kurta pattern. The shared shade can be subtle; it does not need to occupy equal areas of both garments.
If both prints are small and dense, they may read as texture from a distance. A larger print beside a finer one creates more obvious contrast. Try the outfit from across the room and close up. Neither view is the only correct one, but each reveals a different amount of detail.
The amount of each print matters too. A narrow fold of a patterned dupatta introduces less pattern than a broad drape across the front. Printed trousers beneath a long kurta may show mainly when you walk. Choose the arrangement according to the effect you want, not a fixed percentage rule.
Check garment fit separately. A pattern combination cannot fix trousers pulling at the thigh or a dupatta constantly slipping. Make sure the kurta's slits, the trouser waistband and the drape work together before deciding the prints are the problem.
A plain shoe or bag can create a quieter area in the outfit. Use something already in your wardrobe where possible. You do not need to buy an accessory matching a tiny motif simply to prove the prints belong together.
For a starting example, pair a cream-and-blue floral kurta with a navy-and-cream striped dupatta and plain blue trousers. Then compare the same kurta with small geometric trousers and no second printed layer. Keep the version you prefer in motion as well as in a photograph. Mixed prints are a choice about visual rhythm and personal taste, not a test of whether you have followed an official set of styling rules.
