Choose juttis by their actual shape and fit, then see how their decoration meets the hem of the outfit.

Juttis vary in shape, material, lining and construction. A pair that looks similar to one you already own may fit differently, so try the actual shoes rather than relying only on a familiar size. Put on both, stand and walk on a clean surface. Notice the toe space, the sides of the foot and whether the back remains comfortably in place.
Do not assume a tight pair will become suitable simply because the material may soften with wear. The amount of change depends on the construction, and decorative work can limit flexibility. If the toes feel compressed or the shoe repeatedly slips, try another size or shape. Choose around present fit rather than a promised future fit.
An embroidered jutti can disappear almost entirely beneath a long trouser leg. If you want the decoration visible, compare a shorter or narrower hem, provided that length suits the outfit. A plain jutti may be a better use of what you already own when the shoe will mostly be covered. You do not need to buy detail that the garment hides.
With a saree or long skirt, check that the hem stays clear of the toe and any raised embellishment. Walk, turn and take a step. A thread or bead can catch a loose fabric edge even when the shoe itself fits well. If the decoration and hem repeatedly meet, change the length or choose a smoother pair for that outfit.
Juttis with a strong colour or dense embroidery can be the main accessory in a plain kurta set. Repeat one small colour elsewhere if you want a connection, but avoid assuming the bag and jewellery must reproduce the entire design. With a richly decorated outfit, a simpler shoe can leave the garment's work visible.
Consider the event route. A decorative pair you enjoy for a short indoor gathering may not be the one you want for a long walk or wet conditions. Check the maker's care guidance and the actual sole. If you plan to change shoes, recheck the outfit hem with the travel pair as well. A change in height can matter even between shoes that both appear flat.
Try the pair for a modest period at home within the seller's return conditions before committing it to a long event. Notice any rubbing or slipping early and choose another option if necessary. Keep the shoes clean and follow their specific care instructions, especially where textile uppers and decorative elements are involved. The right pair works as footwear first; its pattern then becomes a detail you can enjoy without managing it all day.
